The Old Bellingen Chambers is a grand example of
Federation architecture and one of Bellingen's finest investment
properties. The Chambers have been fully restored in recent years
and as the "Centre of Well Being" are now home to 11 separate
tenancies which are fully leased, on annual 5% increases and currently
returning a total of approximately $1,000 per week. This rare investment
offers excellent returns as well as being a building of historical
significance for the region. |

The Old Bellingen Chambers
were built in 1911 by H.R.Katte for the Bellingen Shire Council
who remained in residence until 1983 when they relocated to their
current location in Hyde Street. The original foundation stone,
laid by the shire president of the day, Mr Black, can still be seen
to the left of the main entry.
While the Chambers do not have an individual
heritage listing or national trust listing, they are in Bellingen's
conservation zone and the heritage council have described the building
as being "more decorative than most from that period, and featuring
some fine timberwork, including turned timber verandah posts". |

The Old Bellingen Chambers
is an incredibly solid building that is well loved by residents
and visitors alike. It is solid in its construction, having been
'over engineered' from day one, and it is solid as an investment
property showing excellent returns with virtually no vacancy factor
- in fact there is usually a list of potential tenants who are waiting
for an opportunity to lease a room.
The majority of the tenants are natural health
practitioners and the services currently offered include massage,
beauty therapy, naturopathy, osteopathy and Bowen therapy, and the
Chambers are also home for the Bellingen Community Markets, Community
Transport and Landcare. |
