Bellingen Township

If you're thinking about buying real estate in Bellingen or the surrounding areas including Gleniffer, Promised Land, Gordonville, Fernmount, Marx Hill, Kalang, Thora, Valery, Raleigh, Repton, Mylestom, North Beach, Hungry Head, Snapper Beach, Urunga and Third Headland then it can only help to know a bit about Bellingen and/or these other areas

Bellingen is a boutique country town, midway between Sydney and Brisbane and around 30 minutes drive from Coffs Harbour to the north and Nambucca to the south. In recent years Bellingen, and Bellingen real estate, has been 'discovered' and the community today is diverse, active, supportive and passionate about improving and protecting what it has.

One of the wonderful things about owning real estate in Bellingen is that within half an hours drive you can enjoy spectacular world heritage rainforest, waterfalls and rivers with pristine swimming holes, amazing and rare flora and fauna, beautiful beaches, boutique cafés and retail stores, mainstream retail stores and supermarkets, planes, trains, art galleries and lots more, including the famous monthly Bellingen markets, the Bellingen Jazz and Blues Festival, the Bellingen Global Carnival, Camp Creative, and Stamping Ground.

Owning Bellingen real estate has even more benefits, like excellent local facilities including the Bellingen River District Hospital, many doctors, naturopaths, acupuncturists and other healers. There are five local churches, heaps of B&B's, an award winning backpackers, award winning cafés, award-winning restaurants, holiday cottages and cabins, a hotel, a motor inn and plenty of specialty shops. There's lots of sport played locally including archery, golf, cricket, soccer, tennis, squash, rugby league, Aussie rules, fishing, sailing, surfing, and horse riding, to name a few. There are government pre-schools, primary and high schools, Catholic primary school, Rudolf Steiner pre-school, primary and high school, and in Coffs Harbour there's Southern Cross University, Coffs TAFE, and numerous public and private primary and high schools.

For me,it's hard to say whether it's the amazing beauty of the area or the incredibly diverse and supportive community that is most attractive about living here.

Either way, if you want to get to know Bellingen and the surrounding areas, come and visit. For now though, keep "searching" Bellingen, Gleniffer, Promised Land, Gordonville, Fernmount, Marx Hill, Kalang, Thora, Dorrigo, Valery, Raleigh, Repton, Mylestom, North Beach, Hungry Head, Snapper Beach, Urunga, Third Headland, Oyster Creek, and Valla Beach on your favourite search engine, and/or check out www.bellingen.com or the Bellingen shire's tourism web site - www.bellingermagic.com
